Arkansas

Day 159 / Mile 18,900

Ohio was fun, playing as if I was an archeologist studying the facades of abandoned ruins throughout the city. It would be cool to go back with a partner and have somebody watching my back in those dangerous environments. Next time I suppose.

Going towards Arkansas I was leaving the established metropolitan areas and going into the beautiful Ozarks. I had to hop a couple states first, but was really excited for some nature again.

I passed through Illinois again, but since I already visited the state I kept on truckin'.

Another quick pass through Missouri and over the mighty Mississippi River one more time.

I stocked up for the 4th of July with some of the good stuff, none of those snakes and sparklers at my celebration!

My jaw dropped when I saw this. I'm considering placing an ad on the billboard above, stating- "It's ok to love your people, just love outside your immediate family. www.StopIncest.com"

My friend Gabe L'heureux gave a tip to visit Eden Falls, where he recently did a photoshoot for Burton. I mapped out the location and it happened to be right on my route. He said there were some cool caves, but didn't have the time to really check them out. I felt obliged to get some pics for him.

This cool little cave got me warmed up for the main spot further along the creek.

Another section you have to crawl along next to the stream. I passed these little adventurers on their way out.

I couldn't light the actual water falling from my angle without walking into the shot, but I still really like this.

Out on the backcountry road towards Whitaker Point I rolled up on a motorcycle crash near a steep hill. A man with his wife on the back lost his rear brakes and slid out on a gravely corner. He was shredded, and luckily I had a first aid kit to help patch him up. She was banged up too but was had leathers and a helmet on. I'm sure he'll never hear the end of it.

Hiking out to Hawksbill Crag was great, perfect weather and this amazing view.
