Upstate NY

Day 151 / Mile 17,280

I stopped off at the Big Moose Deli for lunch, but was sad to find it closed for the day! ...this photo satisfied my experience anyhow.

I heard Watkins Glen Park has some amazing waterfalls, but the super cool trails you see below weren't open yet during my visit. I want to come back someday and hike around.

I went to explore the old Buffalo Central Terminal train station, and was surprised to find a restoration group having their annual clean up day. I volunteered and afterwards they gave me access for a short tour!

They're working on fixing it up, but unfortunately the previous owner sold a lot of the decoration and scrappers looted the place decades ago. Even stripped down, it's a great building.

This room was supposed to be the grand "Trolley Lobby", but closed off by the mafia to stop competition to their taxi business who drove on the other street entrance.

In Chestnut Ridge Park is a bizarre natural phenomenon, the Eternal Flame Falls. There's a small cave behind the water that emits natural gas and can be lit on fire. ...there was also a bizarre group lurking on the cliffside…

This bro claimed, "It's good luck if you light a cigarette from its flame!". He stuck his head in there, not only to soak his cig in the water, but blew out the flame as well.

I waited an hour for them to leave and the lighting to get better for my photo, then re-lit the flame and poof- Robbie Sellfie.
