Missed Me Some Mississippi

After Louisiana I crossed into Mississippi again, because I missed it so much.  ...you don't have a choice when driving East.  Actually, I did have a spot on my shot-list that was well worth going far out of my way for, so I was happy to be back.

Backyard landfill.  Ain't nobody got time for a trashcan. 

Out in the middle of nowhere is an eroded hillside known as "The Grand Canyon of Mississippi".  The colors are beautiful.  

It's eroded so much they shut down the highway, because look. 

Far past repair. 

I broke out my skateboard and flirted with danger along the edge of it.

With a claim like "...the Beautiful", a more well designed sign and mounting place might be a consideration.

I went for a walk in the forest, and was saw this big turtle.

...and then this big dog tried to bite me! 

I love people's mailbox art.  This has been one of the best I've seen so far.

I found a UFO that ran out of gas.  Actually this Futuro House is 1 of 60 made a few decades ago. Very cool to see in person.  

This abandoned Elementary School had a great paint scheme.

I'm going to hang a print of this on my wall someday.

An easy go-to spot to camp for the night is a Walmart parking lot, since they are open 24 hours for supplies and have security roaming around.  This one wasn't down for me, so I camped out next to a hospital.  How's that trailer though, so tacky! 

Next we're going down to the tip of the Nation to soak up some sunshine, Florida!
